Today, I had Oatmeal with Chia seeds, and soy milk for breakfast. Leftovers on the fridge, for lunch. A RedBull, for snack as well as eating my sisters personal stash of Granola….Ooops!
Anyways, back to the music side of things.
I edited some parts for a song called “The Evil That Men Do”. I`m actually not sure if this is a cover song or what. Being that Chris usually has pretty catchy melodies.
So, I was asked by him to do a couple things through email.
And then I sent off the mix, to him.
Now just to wait for him to respond.
That`s all things bliss for now!
YOU! Yes, YOU! I am talking to you, in first person, while downing a cup-a-joe. I am not the exceptionally busy type of person since running this studio. There are times that I wonder if all the gear I own was or IS worth it.
Sometimes I wonder if selling all my gear and getting a REAL job like driving people or things or just doing something other than the studio thing. You know- Like, Wrapping cables, listening to music in the control; which is NOT a job, I know.
Also making videos for clients, mastering, mixing, and recording the folks who come to this fine place I call a home/studio.
The nice thing about running a studio, you get to meet new faces and learn alot about audio and the many facets of it. Yes sometimes clients bale out on something that took you a grueling couple of days, and then they say, they dont like it, and wont pay you a cent.
But then there are the days where the solid clients who KNOW what work actually goes into working in a studio, and running a recording studio- they pay. And then it makes everything seem right.
Right now, I am just sitting in front of my old Windows Vista PC, with yes, I know, I said it- Coffee. And listening to the latest album from James bay- Electric light.
He is a prolific writer, with “Hold back the river” being one of his famous tunes. I guess you could say that is what makes music so interesting. You get to listen to new albums that you never heard of.
For me, since I don
t have any more friends referring me to albums. I listen to the grammys then I choose in my mind which ones I like, then if they come out with an album, I hand over my hard earned cash from performing as a pastor for weddings.
Music is like a drug for me. After work, or during work, or going to work, I listen to my ipod nano. Which is a joy to play with.
s like a toy to me. Growing up with tapes And then CDs, and then MD
s. And now back to CDs.
I guess CD
s wont be disolving. As buying CD`S is still a thing here in Japan.
And I don`t think that will go away.
And of course there are those LP hoarders.
But I know nothing about LP
s. just CDs, MD`s, and tapes. I grew up in the eighties. So During the VHS and tape era, I guess you could say I grew up in a good era.
Anyways, thanks for listening to me babel on about music. It`s in my blood. And if you follow this blog, with all the people that come to record and do whatever they do to make a noise of make history. You are taking the journey with me. Thank you!
I guess this never touched on our history; More like the history of the format of Music formats
Anyways, best wishes for the fall, then winter that will be coming down upon us soon.
Stay warm, stay happy! And don`t forget, Coffee IS cheaper than redbull or monster!
Today we worked in the studio mixing elements from another studio.
We were asked by none other than the infamous Chris larke.
We have been on good terms as his host studio for more than five or more years.
He now lives in England but still uses our services, ie- Mastering, Mixing and session playing. We stay connected via internet.
He sends us STEMS of his work from another studio, and then asks us to mix, master and add elements ie- Strings, bass, drums, electric/acoustic guitar etc.
We played drums and mixed today in the studio.
We are awaiting his approval of the mixes, then most likely he will be using our mastering services, and then he will use our Stillbliss Records label for uploading to all digital online distributors, ie-itunes, google play, Amazon, Cdbaby etc.
The titles of today`s session were called- “Happy now” & “As Nothing”.
Both VERY POPPY trax!
All mixed and mastered at yours truly, Stillblissstudios.
Stay tuned for more news on everything Bliss!! 😉
Today we worked with Elvaughn Riley from Milwaukee.
He is currently serving the navy here in Japan.
We were able to record some vocals with his friend who is also a rapper.
He also introduced me to another person who will be a client in the future for mixing of a song.
The BLA 173 is dope.
Elvaughn Riley`s rapping is dope too!
If you don`t believe me go to his soundcloud link
He will be uploading a new track entitled “Undisputed.”
At some parts, he sounds like Jay-Z.
He said he will be using our label as well.
Thanks Elvaughn You rock!
Stay tuned for more blissful pop news!!

And don`t miss out on this great release!
Stay blissed out!
Yes! We are still in the business of making music. The music biz!
We have a gotten emails from people wanting to use us for free, all the way down to someone asking if we were a rehearsal studio.
But, first and foremost we are a recording studio/label that will never adhere to the public. But will tell things like they are. That is what has made us successful. Yes! You may use our label, if you have some relation to us!
Anyways. Recently we
ve been coordinating with Chris Ekral/Larke/Commander. Weve just sent off a mastered version of his song called “Making ten”. It`s a cute diddly little tune about making ten. 1 plus nine equals 10 etc, etc. He pays us through paypal. And he has been the most faithful client of Stillbliss. He has been using our services as well as our label from day one!
I (Jesse) have been busy with music too. As I am in a punk rock band here in Tokyo/Kanagawa. So its flowing through our bones.
Our studio is also supported by my sweet sister, who, pays for our hosting and site development. So, no worries on the dissapearing of this site.
We have been using Stillbliss as our logo theme for already more then ten years, and counting.
So when you do come to record and use our services, and uploading to digital distribution you are cashing in on our legacy and history.
So enough talk. Now, go and buy one of our Blissful tunes!
